Now the tale can well be told how the battle long was waged,
Light touching Dark, Dark fighting Light
Through the eons, ever on, the battle raged.
‘Til the victor—Uriel—was seen to raise a lighted hand.

“Awake!” she cried, and the Demon gave way, fell there on bended knee and wept!

The skies cleaved open, the night was rent, and heaven-streaming, blinding Light
Flowed cascading down upon the sorrow-stricken soul,
Bands of healing love encircling him in gold;
The softest, whitest doves of peace flocking forth in joy!

The war had ceased! The battle done! “Awaken ye all, rejoice!”
For Uriel has healed the foe, the evil in each demon soul!
