Vidus is located in close proximity to its sun and was an agriculturally based culture. The people are albinos and they are short in stature. Their population was clustered on one side of the planet; the other side was a wasteland. Initially, their problem had been overpopulation, and they needed to refertilize their arid lands.
Psychological problems, however, resulted in the practice of separating the sexes in an unnatural manner, and abstinence was considered a means of developing spiritual awareness! Subsequently, the use of artificial insemination for procreation led to a dwindling population. Additionally, their scientific knowledge and technology were limited.
